Maybe More Frogging, More NaNo, and a Rant

Good morning!! My toes are cold and I'm wearing an unattractive sweatshirt, I love fall!! I need some socks...

I started my leg warmers again, and guess what?? I found my knitting on the floor of the hallway with a bunch of stiches torn out.  Not happy. But it may have been more or less my fault for leaving it unprotected on the couch but still!! How rude! My mom or sister who are the main knitters will look at it soon :)

I wrote a paper on Wuthering Heights. It's the best book about the worst people I love it! You can't stop reading it because the characters are so horrible!! But instead of writing about it's awfulness I wrote about how where they lived (The Moors of England) always gave you a hint of a character's personality, or what was going to happen next, it was awesome.

I've been readying myself for NaNo these last few October days, and I've been getting a little excited!! But how in the sane world am I going to be able to write 50,000 words in a month? *deep breath* At least I already know what I'm writing about! I'm going to rewrite the Grimm's Fairy Tale King Thrushbeard! It's about a snotty princess who has to marry a beggar because her dad is sick of her all around snobbishness. (OMG! Snobbishness is a word!!) I think I'll do ok because I already know how it's going to end, and I got a basic plot. (Thanks Grimm Bros!!!) I have done some of my own character sketches and I think it's going to be amazing!!

I got This from Google Images :)
Are you toes cold? Have you had a craft disaster lately? Have you wrote a super awesome cool paper? What are you doing for NaNo? Are you doing NaNo? Leave me a comment!! Buh-Bye world!

Spanish and Frogging

Remember those leg warmers I was making? I failed. My mother tried to help, but it was far too late, I went to far.

I was doing wonderfully, I was knitting two and purling two like nobody's business, then I came to the knit two together, yarn over, purl, after a row of that, ribbing was impossible for me...When i showed my mom she said I should just start ribbing again even though it wont match up, but it was far to confusing seeing the previous rib, so I frogged it, I tore all my knitting off the needles. I shall start again soon though! I promise that!!

At youth choir yesterday, I felt really left out. Not because I'm the only home school girl. Well, at least that's not all of it. Mostly I felt left out because they all speak Spanish, and I don't. So I'm going to learn Spanish!! I know, I know, that's a horrible reason for learning a new language, but really!! How would you like it if you were the only person in a whole group that didn't speak Spanish, was home schooled and all that jazz! And furthermore, I find it much easier to talk to the 20 year old leaders of the group rather than the 16-17 year olds, I don't know, either I'm awkward, or their awkward. I'm going to say their awkward, just because I can, until I have further proof that I am. I probably am because I had to rant this out...

*deep breaths* I'm fine, I'm fine... I'm good... Ok, That's it! Until next time my fellow peeps!

Ug!!

Sorry I didn't post the pictures I meant to post!!

This is my knitting!

And this is me wondering how safe knitting is!

Knitting

I a made for my best friend/boyfriend, and sense I didn't fail completely at it, I'm now making myself leg warmers!!! Don't judge me... yes they've been out of style sense the 90's, yes their goofy looking, but they look so warm and cozy, and I'll be abel to wear skirts in the winter!!! This is what I've got so far...

I also think that knitting with double pointed needels is dangerous...

Anyways! I am about to go to the Catholic youth choir and tune my voice up! *looks at the clock* I got like twenty minutes... I got time....

So now what should I talk about?? Hmmm.... have any of you scanty few who read my blog, if there is any such person, though of anything I should write about for NaNoWriMo? I most despreatly need inspiration!! Maybe I'll just write about a lady bug... Who turns into a magical fairy... who then turns into a fish..who has to survive the salmon cycle... then she turns back into a lady bug and lives happily ever after...the end.

Sorry, that was weird. So give me some insipration or I'll be forced to write this!!!! Just Kidding, but really help me!

Oh my dad wants to leave now! Bye!!

I Finished The Cozy!!!

I did it! I decided that I really didn't need that hole on the top for the handle so I skipped it! The pattern also said that you should make a hole for the plug in, but I skipped that to, I mean, if I had my machine plugged it would be because I was using it, and if I were using it I wouldn't have the cozy on it... right? Anyways!!!

I sewed all the rectangles together....

And it ended up like this!

The pattern said to put bias tape around the bottom edge, but after the fiasco with my the bias tape when I tried last time, I decided a hem was good enough.

But when I was finished folding, and pressing I realised that I pressed the wrong way. Ooops.

I fixed it though!
Ain't it the most beautiful thing you ever seen?!?

NaNoWriMo

As you may already know it's almost National Novel Writing Month, and as usual I have no idea what to write about. So, if you could be so kind as to give me some inspiration in the comments box, I would be much obliged.

Today I might start on that blasted cozy for my sewing machine. With my mom's help of course... I think I can do it this time sense I have already made mistakes, I might not repeat them, especially with the most welcome help! So, I have hope for the cozy!!

Ta Ta for now!! Bye!

Julia's Questiony Thingy!

Today I looked at my blog to see if any new peeps joined my blog within the 24 hours of it's existence, and I saw that one of my awesome friends Julia had one!!! Here's her link: http://throughthelookinglassphotography.blogspot.com/

She had one of those questiony thingys so I decided that I would do it too, like all the good blogger do right?? Well anyways here it is!

What is your blog address?
http://themisadventuresofrebeccac.blogspot.com/

When you first saw the movie elf, did you think that the Mr. Narwhal was going to be a bad guy and eat Buddy?
Yes, I think I screamed when he went out of the water...

Do you have a preference between green and purple grapes?
Green grapes are far more yummy, and they don't have those occasional yucky seeds.

Have you ever eaten Spam? If so, do you like it?
No, I have never eaten it....But I saw inside the can once, and swore never to eat it...

What is your favorite day of the week?
Saturday! You can sit on you butt all day and do nothing!!!! Amazing!! Oh, and if yo don't want to sit on you butt you can hang out with some amazing people! Which is far more productive, most of the time.

Are you sick right now?
Ummmm.....I don't think so...

Nicknames are cool. Do you have one?
Well Becca is my usual nickname, but ever sense my little brother called me Bucka and could shake off the habit, I got a new family nickname! One of my friends in a different state, Trina, calls me Bugga. Here's her blog address too: http://trinathecrazybigsis.blogspot.com/

What did you eat for lunch?
It's only 9:07 am, I haven't eaten lunch yet, but for breakfast I had cream cheese on home made toasted bread!

Well, thats that!!!!! Thanks for reading!

Look!!! It's a picture of a tigger my mom took a while back when we went to Wildlife Safari!!! His paws were HUGE!

Sewing

Let me tell you what inspired me to make this blog.

I got a new Singer sewing machine for my 17th birthday this year. I was so excited! Especially because the "S" on the dial in front was my favorite color green. As I looked upon the box stammering , "Oh my gosh! Thank you, thank you! Oh my gosh!" My mom told me that the first thing that I should sew was a cover for my new machine.

I looked at my book, Sew Everything Work Shop by Diana Rupp, and looked for the pattern for a Sewing Machine Cozy. Looked easy enough, just a bunch of squares sewn together, so I started.

The pattern called for oil cloth, but sense my mom had no oil cloth, and you needed a special foot to attach to the sewing machine I decided normal cloth was good enough.

So, I threaded the machine a gazillion times until I actually got something that looked like a sewn line. I was so proud of my self!!! So, I started on the real deal.

On one of the squares you were supposed to cut a hole in the middle for the handle, then, you put bias tape around the cut edges so you didn't have to go through the pain and torture of hemming a hole in the middle of a piece of cloth.

Well, me thinking that I was a sewing master measured out how long one side of the hole was and cut the bias tape and fit it in. Well, I put the tape on the wrong side for starters...and I also shouldn't have cut it like I did. But, before I realised this I sewed it on.

When I looked down on the side that would show, I discovered my mistake, I got discouraged, but I still went with it and just took out my seam ripper. The stitches are ever so very small...I couldn't get my ripper into the stitches. So now I'm going to have to cut out a whole new piece.

Trying to repress stress and anger that would force my to tear my work into a million tiny little pieces, I made some chocolate milk, sipped it and felt how thick it was, eeww...oh well! I drank it down anyways, and I asked my mom how to not make it so tiny, she showed me, but for some reason the stitches looked exactly the same, so I turned the dial again, same, again, same...Oh! and every time I did something new the thread would freak out so I had to rethread the machine a gazillion more times.

I folded up my work put away my sewing machine and made this blog.

Oh! And soon my wonderful mother will teach me how to put bias tape on that stupid piece of cloth! :)
